We just shipped some real changes to MelodAI's free plan after digging into why so many people tried it once and never came back. Turns out the free tier itself was part of the problem, so we fixed it.
What Changed
- Free credits now refresh every month instead of being a one-time grant
- Free songs are up to 60 seconds now, up from 30
- Every account gets 1 free guitar tab credit — Guitar Pro, PDF, and MIDI, on us

Why We Made These Changes
We looked at what was actually happening with free accounts. Most people who tried MelodAI once still had unused credits sitting there — they just had no reason to come back and make a second song. So we gave them one: real, recurring value instead of a single spent trial.
Starter Is More Competitive Too
Starter now includes 50 songs a month instead of 20, at the same $12 price. If you're comparing plans against other AI music tools, that's the tier we're closing the gap on.
